Manfred Weiss

Manfred Weiss is a macromolecular crystallographer and team leader of the HZB-MX group at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin.

 

He graduated in chemistry from the University of Freiburg. After two postdoctoral appointments at UCLA and the IMB in Jena, he went on to lead a team at the EMBL in Hamburg and from there moved onto the HZB in 2009.

 

Having authored and co-authored more than 120 scientific publications to date, Manfred is most known for his methodological developments in crystallography. One of these developments is the automated structure determination platform Auto-Rickshaw.
